How to Show Only Specified Control Panel Icons
Imagine a scenario in which you need to set up a PC for a novice user, and you'd like that individual to have access only a couple of generally innocuous icons, for example, Personalization and Getting Started. All things considered, it's an abundant excess work to cripple the greater part of the icons, each one in turn. A substantially less demanding methodology is to indicate only those few Control Panel icons you need the user to see.
Here's the secret:
1. Press the
keys to open Run box, then type gpedit.msc into Run box and click OK button. This will open Local Group Policy Editor.
2.Click the User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Control Panel branch.
3. Double-click the Show Only Specified Control Panel Items policy.
4. Click the Enabled Option.
5. Click the Show button. The Show Contents dialog box appears.
6. For each Control Panel icon you want to show, type the icon name and press Enter key.
7. Click OK to return to the Show Only Specified Control Panel Items dialog box.
8. Click Apply and OK buttons. Windows puts the policy into effect next time Control Panel is opened.
