Reset Windows Update Components
Applies to Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and Windows 10.
If you have received a Windows Update error, you can use the batch script attached to this thread to fix common Windows Update errors. This batch script will reset Windows Update components, its a safe process to do so, this batch script tested multiple times to make sure it will not cause any unwanted problems.
To automatically reset Windows Update components, download the batch script named ResetWindowsUpdateComponents.bat and run it as a administrator by right clicking the batch file and select Run as Administrator from context menu.
I suggest you to run the ResetWindowsUpdateComponents.bat batch script with no programs opened at all (everything close), because computer needs to be restarted after batch script finish executing.
