Photo Retouching

I felt like testing myself at basic photo retouching, so I decided to make a photo look more beautiful. I just used a simple tool, the 'image adjustment' function in Photoshop.

I added a little to much contrast.

Are you serious? The original looks more dull. The touched up one looks more vivid and bright. Even the leaves looks abit brown for the original.

I'm assuming you did not think you're better than you say others are. I see some lost details(right tree, houase, left bush...) and it looks to dark and contrasting. But nice try anyway. I'm not a graphic artist.

Looks like you adjusted the exposure/brightness and contrast or something. Right?

I think Agent's one looks best. =]

What I was trying to say was that when you say the original loks the best, you don't mean that you can do better then them since they have all done a good job photo retouching. I hope I cleared up the misunderstanding.

Since this is rather basic, I did not do selective retouching since it was time consuming. If I adjusted it's darkness overall, there will be lost details like yours. And since it's actually suppose to be a bright scene, I'm trying to keep to it.

I like Agent's retouch because it bring out the river with the tint of blue appearing. Doc's brings out a good wood finish on the house and GT's brings out the grass and the left tree to a more realistic level.

im still newbie to this, but im not going for realistic but to a more mystical level.

Well.. i tink its nice.. maybe it'd be better if the trees and grass were darker coloured.. the hut is fine..

Btw.. Aurora.. wad program did u use?
