Hi All,

New to the forum and ready need help.

About 3 days ago I was doing a search in google on the word "POSH" and clicked on a site and I know for a fact it is a virus that is tagging my info and sites on anything that has to do with that word or anything that has to do with that word.

It is now corrupting all accounts and changing the psswds to those accts.

My question is: Is there any free and safe software that is out here that I can use. Thank God I do have Backup software from early this month. But, really need to know if I need to clean eveything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

B

Watch out for fake security alerts
If you're browsing the web and you see a security warning, beware. As we've reported in this newsletter,

http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/antivirus-rogue.aspx

(also known as "scareware") are on the rise. Find out more about the risks of rogue security software and see an example of a fake alert. Then watch a video about this growing problem and what Microsoft is doing about it.

If you want to dig deeper, read the recently released Microsoft Security Intelligence Report Volume 10 with research on security threats for the second half of 2010.

COMBOFIX WORKS BUT THE PROGRAM IS UPDATED REGULARLY WHICH MEANS YOUR
COPY IS PROBABLY EXPIRED...THIS MEANS YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE:

Also malwarebytes and Msft secutiy essentials are free

From your report, it sounds to me a [novice] like the hijacker malware
that can make your machine unusable...

I would run the 'combofix' first...

It takes a while, up to an hour, to let it run and do its work...

simply run it and wait for it...
you'll know when its done as a popup text file [the log] will
pop up allowing you to then reboot to a hopefully cleaned machine Smile...
