Hi GeekPolice,
I have been reading through your posts on removing the Antivrus demo viruses, and they are really helpful, simple and easy to follow. However, they don't seem to be working all that well for me!
I have Windows Vista Home, and this morning the "Antivirus demo" virus started telling me that "my computer was infected" and all that crap. I ignored it and ran a MalwareBytes scan instead (I already had it installed thank goodness) and it found two Trojans, which it deleted. I then restarted, thinking that they had gone, but no! The virus has started bombarding me with messages AGAIN!
I have now opened my laptop in Safe Mode with Networking, and I am running a REAL Avira AntiVir Personal scan (which is my normal antivirus programme), so I am waiting for the results. I have tried to update MalwareBytes, but my Internet is blocked (both Firefox and Internet Explorer), and I have tried the things described in various posts on here, but I still can't access any webpages... (It says for Firefox that Windows Parental Controls has blocked it, even though I haven't set Windows Parental Controls to block anything....weird..... )
What I might do next is this: When the Avira Antivir Scan has finished, I'll reboot and open Windows Vista in Normal Mode, quickly update MalwareBytes and then reboot in Safe Mode with Networking, and then scan my computer......do you think this is the right thing to do?
I would appreciate any help and I am so glad that this website has been created so that I can explain my problem to people who may be able to help!
Thanks,
Yashmeee
