While trying to install XP SP3 I recieved this error mesage
"The file C:\windows\system32\smss.exe is open or in use by another application. Close all other applications and then click Retry."
I did that and got the same error again. After much research I learned smss.exe should only be found in C:\windows\system32. After doing a search of my hard drive I found the application in these folders also.

Should I be concerned about this? I have read that smss.exe could be linked to a worm virus.
