I purchased a new computer and am trying to get the files (mostly photos) off my old hard drive to copy to my new computer.
The old hard drive is a Western Digital 38GB oldie from about 2005 or so. When I put it into my Gateway, which runs Vista, it finds the hard drive no problem, but won't allow me to access my photos due to security issues. I have waded through a few levels of security and have gotten through to My Documents and then to My Pictures. The photo files all come up, and I can see a thumbnail with the title of each photo, but the screen shows a painting like a screen saver and when I click on the photos, it says I am not authorized to view the photos due to security issues.
This is my hard drive! I need those photos! It was my mistake that I did not back them up on to an external hard drive...that being said, the pics are all there. I just can't access them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
