I am trying to clean up an old XP computer. When I reboot I get a black screen that asks me to choose the Operating System and then there is two identical lines that say "Microsoft Windows XP" (I think that's the right wording). Is there a way to bypass this screen?

This is off my head...

Open start menu and click run. Type "msconfig" wthout the quote in the box and press enter.

look for boot.ini and see if you can change it frm there.

I read the Ask Leo article and it worked like a charm. Thanks so much. It was a little annoyance but an annoyance nontheless and now it's fixed. Thanks again.
