Anyone help restore laptop?

Im not sure if im in right section and im sorry if i am. I have a toshiba sattelite L300 and i cant get to resett is to original settings. My bro had a look at it and he says it just needs the disk it came with to start it up again. Thing is i didnt get a disk and after looking online the ways iv followed to get it working aint worked lol. Anyhelp would be gratefull all thow im a totall dunce when comes to computers. Have you tried to go to >Start >All Programs> And the Recovery Manager? This is what they probably used in place of a disk if you have vista or Windows 7. This is the area that you go to in order to make a recovery of the computer back to factory settings and to make the recovery discs in the event the computer not being able to boot up correctly. The Shadow copy took the place of the disk because it is good for only that specific computer. If the shadow copy is not there you will need to contact Toshiba with the model and serial numbers to order a set of recovery discs.

It was on vista and i cant even get to the start menu mate i dont think. I tried pressing f8 as its loading up and i got advanced boot settings i think it is. I then went to repair computer as i seen in a link on this sight but it just takes ages to load then says this saved file cannot be loaded or something like that. How would i go about contacting toshiba?is there a phone number or somat? What a pain this is, im not sure how the problem has come to be. Basicly kno matter what i do when i try load the laptop from the boot screen, it comes up saying files cant be loaded.
