i have 2 new startup files.

i have 2 new startup files. searchgardplus.exe and sgpupdaters
what are they and i think they might be the cause of my PC running really slow.
my pc bogs down just browsing.
it is an old machine but i am hoping that a software fix may make it workable for a bit longer.

Since you decided to keep your pirated Windows un-activated, my help stops here for the sake of compliance with Microsoft Policy. I will issue my final recommendation, and this topic will be closed.

In addition, your computer is mostly clean now. Probably running an online scan, like Panda ActiveScan, etc. will probably ensure your computer clean.

Your copy of Windows is probably not genuine. I highly recommend to validate Windows. You can do this one of three ways.

1. Use the Start Menu and navigate to the Activate Windows link. Through this, it will allow you to enter your product key, and to properly register Windows, so it will be licensed/genuine.
   
2. Contact Microsoft for a replacement product key. You can do this by having your proof of purchase ready, and be prepared to fax the information. You can find out more information about contacting them by this link. See the section Replacement product key.
   
3. Buy a new, retail version of Windows. You can either find them in home electronics in department stores, or online at http://www.microsoft.com/buy/default.aspx

Keep in mind, Microsoft requires your copy of Windows to be genuine. Lastly, we are not responsible for any issues that arise, because of your non-genuine copy of Windows.
