Hi guys, I have a problem with my Toshiba laptop after accidentally dropping it onto my wooden chair (laptop was running when this happened).

What happens when I try to access Windows Vista is this:

"Windows Error Recovery" black screen comes on with the 2 options:

Launch Startup repair (Recommended)
Start Windows normally

So, I click on Launch Startup repair and get the following black screen labeled "Windows Boot Manager"

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Status: 0xc000000f
Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

The only "hardware change" I can think of is that the hard drive got shaken up when it dropped to my chair.

Please help!! I have only had this laptop for a little over a year and it has been working fine up until this happened.

Sounds like your hard drive came loose on the inside or hard drive went bad!

Try opening the hard drive cover and make sure it is fit snug into the socket!
