This is very new to me. Yesterday my computer was infected with Antivirus Live. I followed your instructions an cleaned up over 1000 infected issues. I restarted, but still, when I try to go on google it tells me there is a certificate error and do I want to continue unprotected. Not sure what to do. I'm very much a beginner with this.

That is a strange message to get when you go to Google.com, since it is not a secured site (it is http and not https). Only https sites require certificates.

I suggest you read this and after that post here.
There they can help you find out if you really got rid of the nastiness.
