my computer has been infected by subject viruses & I don't know how to get rid of them. Running XP and I cant download or access any of my programs. Can't bring up task manager as all I get is the program is infected. Tried to figure out the fix by reading the posts of others enjoying the same miseries as well as the tech replies/directions; but, I'm still confused as the fixes seems individualized.

Download OTL to your Desktop, but before saving, rename it to OTL.pif

• Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.

• Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  
  
  
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time
