64-bit FREE security software

AFAIK the following FREE security software is available (partly) native 64-bit coded:

• Avira antivirus
  
• Avast! antivirus
  
• Comodo IS (AV+Firewall)
  
• Outpost Firewall

Anyone knows more to add to this list?

I think any user running a 64-bit OS should prefer 64-bit coded security software over 32-bit, to fully exploit the potence of your system and possibly to cater for 64-bit malware hiding out of the reach of 32-bit software.

Is this general advice for everyone on which software to install or a question?

Both actually.

I wanted to compile/maintain a list of FREE native 64-bit coded security software for the user, not a list of 64-bit compatible programs for the malware fighter.

Ok. So, copy just antispyware, antivirus, and firewall from our list and edit your above post with the information.

Allright, took me some time to go through the list, but none of the programs on that list are free AND native 64-bit coded.
AFAIK the list in OP is the complete list of free native-64-bit Antivirus and firewalls.

if anyone finds a new program that has jumped the 64-bit hoop, I´d like them to post here and tell us!

Interested to see what you are recommending for 64 bit users, I had been relying on Matousec for test data up until my switch to 64 bit last year but they are only just catching up.
Not able to access the link quoted above - do I need a password for it or something?
