AntiVirus Live: not currently infected, but have a quick question...

Hey guys,

I've been infected with AntiVirus Live twice now. Both times I've had somebody remove it for me. The second time, she suggested removing Malwarebytes AntiMalware (and so I did) from my computer because she said that program was battling with my other antivirus/antimalware program (Trend Micro) rendering them both less effective. I purchased the updated version of Trend Micro after the first infection. I see in Dr. Inferno's Removal Guide that he suggests purchasing the Pro Version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Should I be ok with the newest version of Trend now that Malwarebytes has been removed? And if I get re-infected, will I need to download Malwarebytes again? And if so, is this Trend Micro a waste of computer space and money?
