Farewalls blocks internet on my laptop.Please help

Couple days ago internet stoped working. It shows Connected but not working. I tried to get some help and was told that Firewalls on my computer are blocking internet. And same is writen when I tried to repair problem. could you please tell me how to solve that ????

What firewall are you using?

windows XP and AVG antivirus. I printed out an arcicle from web what to do if it happens tried 4 different ways.Same again. Showing connected and not conneting. And wireles is gone even cannot find it .
and tried to diagnose problem got response Ceck firewall settings HTTP port (8)
HTTPS port (443) and FTP (21). Am just a simpe user, can solve problems if i know what to do step by step.

Open CMD, Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults by typing: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults by typing: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Restart your PC.

If it doesn't work, download Winsock XP Fix from here, save it to your Desktop.

Double click on the exe on your Desktop.
Press the "Fix" button, then restart again.

See if you can connect now.
