exploit rogue scanner 1006

I got an AVG warning of this when going into IE 7 the other day. I ran a scan from trend's hijackthis if you need to see it.
Any help is appreciated.

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.
  

You must be the rogue scanner expert, lol. I got chewed out by trying to post on a previous post. Now I know protocol. I worked in IT from 95 - 2001, so you won't have to sugar coat too much with me.

• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)

Cool Avatar by the way. I finished the process and will post the MBM log file following my msg (below). I killed the 3 things you mentioned from Hijack log. I had previously downloaded Foxit PDF reader, but never intended to activate the toolbar. Mikogo is a free app (you probably already know), like pcanywhere, used it a few times. Like anything free, has potential holes. Maybe I shouldn't use it. Had a dam Trojan.Downloader in my recycle bin that MB caught. My free AVG only picked it up when MB did scan. Got them cleaned out, I'll run MB again to make sure. Any advice on using these 2 apps (Hijack & MB) on a regular basis? Thanks a lot for your help. I'll donate some $.

Did you remove what was found? MBAM says no action was taken.

The only thing I can think was that there was a conflict with AVG picking the Trojan up when I did MB scan, had AVG put it in Virus Vault, kind of forced to handle it that way. Just now, Through taskmanager, I ended AVG in Systray, (only way), did an MB scan and it came up clean. Let me know if I'm ok

I see that you are running uTorrent.
P2P(Peer to peer) applications are designed to help you easily share and distribute files between you and a group of people. But they can also be used to distribute malware, and thus are not considered safe.
The removal of these programs is optional, but highly recommended.

• Click Start >> Control Panel.
  
• Under the Programs click Uninstall a Program
  
• Highlight the following:
  
  µTorrent
  Java(TM) 6 Update 17
  Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6
  
  
• Click on the Uninstall/Change button at the top.
  

How is the machine running now?

The only thing that happened was the screen environment would freeze or pause for a few seconds every 10 seconds or so, very annoying but I don't know if that was related. It is running fine now. Are there any safe bit torrent sites that are safe? Is there any place that you recommend to guide me in using any of these utilities you showed me? This place and you have been great!

Torrent websites maybe safe, but the files you download may not be, any file you download could be a dropper.

If I may ask one more thing,
one of my computer geek buddies told me of a new spyware tool called "superantispyware". I was going to download it from Cnet. Is this the new best utility or is hijackthis and Malwarebytes still the best.

I don't recommend to normal untrained users, it can be rather dangerous.
