hp laptop connection to netgear wirelessly with limited connectivity no internet

Hi Guys,

i've just moved in with a mate that has a wireless network setup in his house using wep as security on a netgear wireless router. There are only two users and there are 4 pass keys. The pass key i use gives me connection (i have tried other combos etc and get no connection at all) but i cannot access or even see anyone elses computer or access the internet thus rendering it fairly useless.

I really am stuck at a loss with this and cannot find anything of help anywhere.

Start >> Run >> CMD, Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults by typing: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults by typing: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Restart your PC.

See if you can connect now.
