I think this problem has finally been solved. It seems the anti-virus program was interfering with the reports. I uninstalled the anti-virus, ran Mbam and it showed no 'infections'. I then installed a different anti-virus program re-ran Mbam and it again showed 0 'infections'.
That seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.
