Laptop got infected, I did a complete reinstall. When I did something happened and now it says I have no network adapter among other things. Using my bros pc now since my internet obviously doesn't work. Can u help with this?

The laptop that isn't working (not this one) has been down for months. I just looked at the device manager to try to figure out what I needed to download and I think I may have been mistaken about it being the network adaptor that was missing. the items highlighted in yellow are all under Other devices...Base System Device, SM Bus Controller and Video Controller (VGA Compatible). Are these items that will prevent using the internet? I'm clueless when it comes to hardware issues. Please help...

Open CMD, Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults by typing: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults by typing: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Restart your PC.

See if you can connect now.


If not, install this to reset your TCP/IP:
