Hi all ,first time poster.
I had a problem with Anti virus pro infection this morning,I couldn,t do anything with my antivirus software(AVG) KEPT TELLING ME IT WAS INFECTED,all programs seemed to be infected, couldn,t open programs and such, the run button wouldn,t work, sytem restore either.

After checking for a solution online ,downloaded a program called rkill? wouldn,t run.then malwarebytes anti malware.wouldn,t worktold they were infections.
I eventually found a program called macafee stinger ,tried that in normal mode wouldn,t work.
At my wits end I decided to run the macafee stinger in safe mode, which took a while but came back with 2 infections (only one removed).
Booted my machine in normal mode and my programs and AVG were back again,i ran the rkill patch then
Malwarebytes anti malware which found and quarantined 13 ojects.
I,m gonna run my avg see if it finds anything else but all seems to be ok (for now).
If this helps anyone out there ,great, or if anyone has any tips for me I would be grateful. Thank You!

Hello.

Please download exeHelper from one of the two links.
Link 1
Link 2

  • Double-click on exeHelper.com or exeHelper.scr to run the fix.
  • A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
  • Post the contents of log.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com)
Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

  • Double click and run the installer.
  • It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  • After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  • Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

Disable AVG, it's a false positive. AVG sucks on detections, I had AVG and omg....I hated it.

Hello.
Not really, malware writers will stoop to the lowest of low to infect people and steal money from them.

Remove the Proxy setting in Internet Explorer and/or in FireFox.

    In Internet Explorer
  1. Tools Menu -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab ->Lan Settings > uncheck "use a proxy server" or reconfigure the Proxy server again in case you have set it previously.

    In Firefox
  1. Tools Menu -> Options... -> Advanced Tab -> Network Tab -> "Settings" under Connection > Choose "No Proxy"
  2. Click the apply button and restart that computer in normal mode.

  • Open HijackThis
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"
  • Check the boxes in front of these lines:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:5555
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - *{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - *{EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)

  • Press "Fix Checked"
  • Close Hijack This.

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.
