Help!!!Keep getting popups and windows update errors

It started with a windows\system32 error and then I started getting popups even though my popup blocker is on. I also get error messages saying that it can't download new Windows updates. I am including my Hijackthis log file below:

• Close Hijack This.
  

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)

I ran the hijackthis scan and fȋxed all items noted. However when I downlaoded the Malwarebytes program, it goes all the way to the end and says the installation is completed but then tells me it's can't locate the mbam.exe file and it just keeps searching for it. I removed the program and tried reinstalling but received the same error. Please advise
