Computer running extremely slow

Hi

Overnight my laptop has started running extremely slow. I can't seem to load anything without it taking an extremely long time. When something finally does load, it will go from 'not responding' to responding... then end up freezing the computer. I haven't installed or downloaded anything at all and I am not running anymore programs than I used to. I have tried decreasing the amount of programs and this has no effect.

I have run it in safe mode and it is running fine in safe mode. I'm not sure if it is hardware related or perhaps a virus or some other bug. I would really appreciate some assistance if anyone could help. I wasn't sure what topic to put this into so if I am in the wrong spot please feel free to move it.

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.
