Can't Remove Total Security

Yesterday I successfully (I thought) removed Antivirus 2010. Today I have Total Security Spyware. When I try to run Malware that I downloaded yesterday it stops scanning after a few seconds. Please help.

And I can't open Internet Explorer. I am working on a different computer, to post here.

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.
  

I was able to get IE to launch but when I tried the download nothing happened. I tried a couple times then the computer just shut down. I rebooted but cant get IE to launch.

I was able to download HJTInstall on my desktop but when I try to run it, I get a pop up saying HJTInstall.exe is infected.

Finally after a hundred tries I was able to run a scan on Hijack:

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

I did fȋxed Checkd on Hijack, downloaded Malawarebytes and ran the scan. Results are below. When I rebotted, I had a RUn DLL pop up box that said " Error loading C:\windows\system32\bazabezi.dll. The specififed module could not be found. Also, I kept getting a Microsoft Windows pop up that said The system has encountered (and tehn recovered) from a serious error..."

  * Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".
  
  2. During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

  5. Close any open browsers.
  6. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

How is the machine running now?

Well, it seems to be running O.K., BUT 1) I seem to have lost my EXCEL throughout this process, which is odd because everything else I tried seems O.K., including WORD, and 2) when I rebooted just now, I received a message that said "Your computer might be at risk. Your virus protection status is unknown.". There is a red shield with a white x on the bottom (my Symantech shield is yellow, and it is there too).

For some reason, either just random chance, or the malware, the machine ins't seeing you have Symantec installed.

We'll remvoe Symantec anyway, I don't like Norton or anything to do with Norton.

Please install Avira antivirus otherwise you won't be protected.

How is the machine running?

Hi. Should the Uninstall take a long time? The first time I tried it, I was hung up at the "Please wait while windows configures Symantec" screen. I waited awhile and then CTl Alt Deleted, rebotted and tried again. The same thing happened again - so far it has been 20 minutes. My PC has been really slow. It took a long time to download and install AVIRA yesterday - more than 30 minutes. Should I just be patient? Or is something wrong?

Symantec can cause slowdowns sometimes because it's a big product. If it's not uninstall, knock it off and we'll use something else to remove it.

OK let's try something else. :-)

Completely Uninstall Norton software using:

• SymNRT.exe
  

Instructions

1. Please download and save SymNRT.exe to your desktop.
   
2. Close all programs and double click on the tool.
   
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
   
4. Restart the computer if asked.
   
5. Then delete the SymNRT.exe tool from your desktop.
   
6. Open the Program Files folder on your local disk ( normally C: )
   
7. Find and delete the following folders (if present):
   
   
   
   • Norton AntiVirus
     
   • Norton Internet Security
     
   • Norton SystemWorks
     
   • Norton Personal Firewall

Yeah, there is some removal problem with the corporate edition.

Please download Revo Uninstall from here: Revo Uinstaller

1. Download and run the setup file for Revo Uninstaller.
   
2. Once setup, run Revo Uninstaller.
   
3. Select the following item for removal by clicking on it once.

4. Then hit the "Uninstall" button at the top.
   
5. Close Revo Uninstaller.
   

Hi. Well, I think there was a typo in your link for Revo Uninstall but I figured it out. I ran it, and it seemed to get hung up again on the "configuration" screen, but when I clicked on "cancel", it seemed to finish, and told me to reboot, which I did, and Symantic is no longer in programs. Am I done now? What else can I do, using Avira or anything else, so I don't get any more Malware? As much as I am thrilled with your help, I'd like to not have to visit so often. :-)

We need to make a new restore point.

To turn off System Restore, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the System Restore tab.
3. Click the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.
4. Click Yes when you receive the prompt to the turn off System Restore.

Now we need to make a new restore point.
To turn on System Restore, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

3. Click the Turn off System Restore check box (To turn on System Restore), and then click OK.

Below I have included a number of recommendations for how to protect your computer in order to prevent future malware infections. Please take these recommendations seriously; these few simple steps can stave off the vast majority of spyware problems. 1) Please navigate to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download all the "critical updates" for Windows. This can patch many of the security holes through which attackers can gain access to your computer.

Please either enable Automatic Updates under Start -> Control Panel -> Automatic Updates , or get into the habit of checking for Windows updates regularly. I cannot stress enough how important this is.
