hi guys, i have tried numerous removal tools after recieving a virus only to recieve "you may not have the appropriate permission to access the item" when trying to run them.

i have just run the HIJACK THIS programme and have got the following results

any help appreciated guys with what to do

Hello.

I notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with HijackThis fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:
1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
You can reenable TeaTimer once your system is clean.

Please make sure Teatimer is disable before we do this, otherwise this fix will fail.

• Open HijackThis
  
• Choose "Do a system scan only"
  
• Check the boxes in front of these lines:

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

i have tried to uninstall all AV software but dont have access. i have completely removed KAPERSKY yet combo fix said it was running. AVG also has a process constantly runnign. when i kill it it restarts.

The removal of these programs is optional, but highly recommended.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs.

Input this into the notepad file:

Did you uninstall AVG?

everything like that is unistalled except spybot, and i disable that. i keep getting the KASPERSKY warnign message when i run combo fix but everything has been deleted. i have run the programmes to delete these software too.

Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bolded text into the Run box and click OK:

ComboFix /u



This will also reset your restore points.

How is the machine running now?

well after i ran a programme to remove the last remaining files from AVG and KASPERSKY that the virus had removed my access from its been runnign great. I think the problem was a POPCAP game a downloaded for the missus (bloody aquarium). I have since done scans each day and nothing is coming up whatsoever.

Thanks for all your help guys, if there is 1 thing i cant stand its rebuilding. i do it all day at work.

Think i will stick with AVG and SPYBOT running now.

is there anything else you recommend???
