Windows antivirus pro and police pro major problems

I picked this thing up yesterday and it has wrecked my computer. (Dell Latitude 610 with windows XP). It will not let me access anything. The only way I can get online is to click the Dell users guide on the desktop. If I click on IE or any other icon, it wont start. When I go to the control panel and try to click on anything, I get a "parameter is incorrect" message. It also wiped out my wireless connection. I have tried some things I've seen here like Malwarebytes anti malware and Hijack This with no luck. I downloaded malwarbytes but can't run it. As soon as the screen pops up, it's wiped out. With Hijack This, I was able to do a scan, but it was wiped out before i could save it. Now it wont let me run it again!

I downloaded the SystemLook onto the desktop, but when I double click, or go through the Open option nothing happens. Is there any other way to access it?

Hello, try to run SystemLook in Safemode and see if it works:

Please do the following in Safe Mode with Networking: as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode with Networking" and press your Enter key.

Note: With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.) Once in the start up menu, select "Safe Mode with Networking", then do the following instructions:

OK - I tried it in safe-mode and get the same results. The window opens, then immediately closes. It wont run!

This thing is letting me do NOTHING! I've never been so frustrated. I can't open any programs. I can't do a system restore. Anything I search for on Google gets redirected. My wireless connection has been shut down. My bookmarks have been deleted. What is going on?

Unzip it to the desktop and double-click on it. If you get any kind of warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run. When the scan is finished, a message will pop up and a logfile will have been created on the desktop. Please post the entire contents of this logfile for me to see.

I downloaded "Silent Runners" to my desktop. When I try to start it, I get a message saying Silent Runners has started and a log will be created. Then it shuts down and I get a message saying Silent Runners cannot use WMI to identify the operating system and it suggests I use MS tool WMID. iag to diagnose VMI. When I try to do that, the tool wont start.

Download the GMER rootkit scan from here: GMER

1. Unzip it and start GMER.
   
2. Click the >>> tab and then click the Scan button.
   
3. Once done, click the Copy button.
   
4. This will copy the results to your clipboard.
   
5. Paste the results in your next reply.
   

Note:
If you're having problems with running GMER.exe, try it in safe mode. This tools works in safe mode.
You can also try renaming it since some malware blocks GMER.

GMER wont run in safe mode. It starts, then immediately shuts down. Also, this thing has now added "geekpolice.com to my drop down address bar.

Probably just browser memory, that can be cleared later.

I had no problem downloading it, but it won't run. When I try to open it, a window opens and immediately closes. That happens in both normal and safe modes.

I downloaded it to my desktop with no problem, but it won't run. When I double-click the icon, I get a screen saying the publisher can't be verified and asking if I want to run it anyway. When I click "run", a screen opens for a split second, then closes. The same happens when I try it in safe mode.

Please delete this file in red:
C:\Windows\system32\desot.exe

Next, download this file.

Download it to your Desktop.
Double click it to run it; select yes to the registry merge prompt.

Can you try running Hijack This now?
