desot.exe problems HELP!

yes i got the nasty Windows Securtiy Pro virus and i removed it but then i just made a quick check on the system32 and i deleted svchast (which ik needed to be gone) but then i read on another forum that i must delete desot.exe so I did and now when i click on any executable i get the "open with" box that makes u select a program to open it with. so i was wondering HOW DO I FIX THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry but i cant. the problem is i cant open .exe files. so i cant install Hijack this. its making me very mad.

sadly i cant. when i click on it a error box comes up and has the file path and says application not found.

and i cant because its a exectuable.

Download MBAM from here:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam/program/mbam-setup.exe

Once downloaded, remove the .exe and add .scr so the file should be called mbam-setup.scr

Run it, will it install? [if it goes right, it will install, but won't run]

o crap. how do i save it as a .scr file?

RIght-Click on the MBAM set up and click on rename, now instead of the .exe at the end rename it to .scr now see if it runs.

ugh. i did that. now in the downloads list it is named: mbam-setup.scr.exe...........and it still wont run. and i did the rename thing and its still a exe
