Hi,

When I turned my laptop on the desktop was completely black and only a window was opened with 'My Documents' visable, I could access everything on my computer through this window. I opened task manager, ended explorer.exe and then reloaded it, this enabled everything to go back to normal.
I used 'Malwarebytes Anti-Malware' and it found 2 files. That problem seems to have gone now but my laptop now takes ages to load and the 'Windows Sidebar' will take several minutes to appear.

Hello.

  • Open HijackThis
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"
  • Check the boxes in front of these lines:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WMPNSCFG] C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\WMPNSCFG.exe

    O9 - Extra button: InterCasino $$$ - {909AAEB6-C2CB-4AB5-A7BB-C33B72AB4BFB} - C:\Users\Matt\Desktop\InterCasino $$$.lnk (HKCU)

  • Press "Fix Checked"
  • Close Hijack This.

Now re-scan with MBAM, them two items will probably appear, but hopefully after this scan, they should die and not come back.
