laptop won't start up

today i hit a popup for security system and it just took over my desktop.
None of my apps will launch. I was using Firefox as my brouser and it won't
start up again. I had Internet Explorer and I clicked that and low and behold
it launched! So I went to webroot and downloaded their anti-spyware anti-
virus software. When it finished downloading, it asked me to re-start, I did.
But it won't re-boot. It goes to the boot up menu options and none of them work.

Help!!!

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

Thanks for your reply. when this thing took over I was still able to access
the internet and downloaded a webroot app. the machine was on until
this download completed and asked me to restart. Now it remains in a
rolling re-boot. I don't have any pirated software, I'm not sure of the
term "cracked."

I took the machine to a local tech who thinks he can fix it.
