Cryptor infection

Yesterday after running my avg anti-virus I found my computer to be infected with Win32/Cryptor. I've already used malwarebytes' anti-malware program, and that seemed to clear up some tracking cookies. I've been running the anti-malware for about 2 hours and have seen no mention of Cryptor and I'm running avg again and also no mention, but I don't think it's that simple to get rid of Cryptor.

I'd appreciate it if you helped me remove it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

I ran ComboFix, and the log came up after it was done running. I saved the log. I was going to post it here but my desktop was blank save for the desktop photo. Upon restart I only get to the blue windows XP screen, and only get that far on safe mode as well.

I can't do much with my computer now because I have no idea what to do to get past that blue screen. Any suggestions? Seems for now I'm confined to my boyfriend's computer.

A solution to this would be much appreciated.

Also, before I ran ComboFix this morning, AVG found what looked like a dozen files infected with Cryptor.

Yeah, the rootkit is quite nasty isn't it?

Do you know what the blue screen said?

It is, especially considering I run rootkit checks on my comp with avg anti-rootkit.

The blue screen was the light blue log in screen with darker blue bars at the top and bottom of the screen with the Windows XP logo. Nothing at all helpful like a blue screen with prompts.

Any advice, perhaps using the boot drive menu accessed from f12 on reboot? Or reboot and choose windows recovery console?

I select safe mode and I still end up on the same blue windows xp logo screen. So yeah, been there, tried that, and my computer is still in zombie mode. Though much less shambling.

Are you able to boot to the recovery console instead? we can try and restore the registry.

When I choose that, it says "NTLDR is compressed. Press Ctrl Alt Del to restart." And then if you press that it just restarts the computer.

It appears the only thing I am able to load is my computer's settings. I don't know what I should do from there. I don't know if I need to reset my BIOS (and what the consequences of that are). I don't know if I need to completely reinstall windows (which I do not have the disc for) and I don't know what to do with my backed up hard drive on my external drive once I do all of that. Hopefully there is some other way out of this though.

I am able to get into windows recovery console by using a windows CD and booting off of that. I've tried using that to go into the C drive to change the attributes of the NTLRB but it always shows that it is not compressed anyway. I've changed the attribute to compressed and back to uncompressed, and it does nothing. Also I'm having further trouble that I don't even get to the windows screen anymore...i get "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer" when i try to boot up normally.

Lets try a repair install
Boot off the CD again, and when it goes into the CD and gives you two opens (format, or repair install), it will ask you to type "r" for repair install, so type in "r" and hit enter.
