My computer just turns off. This has been going on for a while. Previously I would do a system restore in safe modLogfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

thank you so much for the help. I did what you said except I could not find the C:/ users in the log. I had mcafee but I uninstalled it because it said I was not protected and it gave an error when I tried the fix option. This has happened a few times. The computer just turns off and sometimes like this time when I would restart the computer it would turn off everytime usually right after putting in the sign on password. In the past I just did a system restore in safe mode but it did not work this time. Do you have any idea what causes this. I also did install the avira. Do you think my problem is solved? Hello, the C:\ drive isn't a line but the rest if the O23 line it just didn't fit

It might have been that Mcafee wasn't registered that's why it gave you that error.

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

Here are the malware bytes results. I wanted to add that this has happened several times and I have tried numeros programs to try and figure this out including malware bytes and mcafee and many others and none of them detect a virus. a system restore has worked in the past but not this time. well it did it again I can only use the computer in safe mode. The las time I had mcafee and it had been disabled now I have avira and it has been disabled. here is ehe hijack this now. I am running an avira scan but if it is like the other times it will not find anything. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Using McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool
· Double click the MCPR.exe
· A Command Line window will be displayed, and then close automatically.
· Wait for a second Command Line window to be displayed. Note: Do not double-click MCPR.exe again, you may have to wait up to 1 minute for the next window to appear.
· After the second window appears, the program will begin the cleanup.
· Observe the installation, which could take several minutes. The following message will be displayed in the Command Line window: The machine must reboot to complete the un-installation. Reboot now? [y.n]
· Press Y on the keyboard.
· Wait for the computer to restart.
· All McAfee products are now removed from your computer.

computer still turning off only stays on in safe mode and even then sometimes turns off. the avira anti virus says anti viru guard service stopped if I update the program and reboot it works for a while until the computer turns itself off and then it is the same (service stopped}

Hmm, this could be a hardware issue, the log looks fine to me.

no. every time this happens it disables my anti virus whether it is mcafee or now avira. I just got a pop up yhat said spyware doctor a little while ago and it looked like it was running a scan but i closed it. avira blocked a couple of things they are below. I think this is probably overheating, no malware as far as I can see.

I thought that to but would the computer stay on in safe mode if it was overheating and would the shut down disable antivirus.

Well, in safe mode, there is less running and that makes less stress on the machine, unlike normal where everything is running.

• Click Start >> Control Panel.
  
• Under the Programs click Uninstall a Program
  
• Highlight Java(TM) 6 Update 3
  
• Click on the Uninstall/Change button at the top.
  

The best I can do is stop all un-needed startup items and that should speed up startup and make it run slightly better, then pass you onto Doctor.

I havr done what you said. after the last time I reinstalled avira and dunped the temporary files my computer has been working fine. I believe whatever was infecting my computer came from a site called surf the channel that I enjoy watching old tv shows on. I think it was in their advertising and a lot of people were complaining. Today they have not advertising and they had a lot. Again I can not thank you enough and I will be making a donation. Take care Clyde
