Multiple Trojans, etc.

Hi,

I apologize for not putting specific names in the subject line, but I can't recall them at the moment (although I do remember AVG reporting Fake Virus Alerts quite often). I'm fixing a friend's computer and I don't think I've cleaned it out thoroughly. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the HijackThis log:

Combo Fix is telling me that an anti-virus program called "Virus Shield 2009" is currently running, however, I can't even find that program in the list of installed programs (through the add/remove menu) and it's not listed in the task manager under processes or applications. Should I still run combo fix?

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

• Restart your computer
  
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  
• Choose your usual account.
  

Run Combofix from safe mode so the virus shield doesn't interfere.

Even in safe mode combofix detects Virus Shield to be active.

I know, but it won't interfere even if found to be active.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)

How is the machine running now?

Download the Registry Search Tool from HERE

Unzip to your Desktop and double click on regsrch.vbs
(if you have script protection, please allow this to run)

In the dialog that opens, enter the following:
Virus Shield 2009

Press 'OK'

The search will run for a while then alert you when it is finished.
Press 'OK' and copy the contents of the WordPad window and post in this thread.
