I just tried to download the hijack this file but i am not sure where i am supposed to copy and paste the info from?? please help!

Did you install Hijack This?

• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.
  

yes but i already have antispywearXP 2009 and for some reason it seems that the page is being blocked. Then icon shows up on my desktop but it won't allow me to open it?

Right click the HJT icon on your Desktop > Rename it.
Rename it to fixthis.exe, or anything you want, doesn't matter what it's called.

Try running it once renamed.

I just renamed it to fixthis.exe but when i click on the icon nothing happens. I tried to find it in my c drive but once again its not there. I really appreciate your time!

how do i deactivate norton when i don't even use them??

Well I see Norton installed on the machine.

If that's not possible, you can boot to safe mode and run Combofix there.

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

• Restart your computer
  
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  
• Choose your usual account.
  

I am not sure what happend but i ran the scan with norton still on there supposidly and then my computer restarted and then came back on with blue screen ontop of my desktop. It said preparing log and don't start another program till it was finished, 30 minutes went by and nothing happened so i x'ed out of the screen and my old wallpaper showed up and most importantly i don't have the annoying pop ups from antivirus system pro. How did you do it??

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

So since this is all of it that means that when i x'd out of the screen yesterday it must have cut out the remaining parts....should i run combo-fix again?

No, there was no leftover malware showing, I just thought the board limit cut it off, this should be fine now.

Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bolded text into the Run box and click OK:

ComboFix /u



This will also reset your restore points.

i just completed the above and at the end it said combofix is uninstalled.

Yes it was suppose to uninstall ComboFix, how is the computer running?
