Hi,

1 days ago WinblueSoft installed it-self on my computer.

I've tried all the different techniques post by users on alot of forums.

I get the following symptons :

- Cannot run any .exe files
- My cursor goes to the Start button then close the session
- Blocks system restore, task manager, MDAD (MaleWare something)

I think the virus have updated to a new version that dosn't allow alot of things.

Help would be appreciated.

  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Go to Tools > Folder Options.
  3. Select the View tab.
  4. Scroll down to Hidden files and folders.
  5. Select Show hidden files and folders.
  6. Uncheck (untick) Hide extensions of known file types.
  7. Uncheck (untick) Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).
  8. Click Yes when prompted.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Close My Computer.

Try and delete the following files/folders in bold.

C:\Program Files\WinBlueSoft Software <== folder
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tempo-setup2.exe <== file

Take A screen shot

  • Go to the following folder:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32
  • There will be many files there, and you will notice that the files are placed Alphabetically, if the files are not in alphabetical order please set them by doing the following, Right click somewhere in an empty space where the system32 folder is-->Click on "arrange Icons By-->Name,
  • Once that is done, scroll down until the files start popping up with the Letter U, Look specifically for files with the following Names: UACxxxxxxxxxx, the X's are there because the files are all different, If you find any files that start like the above, then please take a screen shot of the whole folder showing those files by doing the following,
  • On the top of your Keyboard there should be a key called Prt Scrn(Print Screen), once you have located the key go back to the system32 folder and Maximize the folder, Now click on Prt Scrn key, there should be a slight Flash on the mouse icon which menas a screen shot has been taken,
  • Now open up Paint, Right Click on the white and select Paste, a picture of the folder should pop up, now save the picture by going to File-->save as-->(if the "save as type" isn't set to PNG then please change it to PNG) system32pic.png, save it to your desktop for easy access,
  • Now go to http://tinypic.com, click on the Choose button and locate the system32 picture and click ok, wait a few seconds for the picture to upload, once the picture has been uploaded you will be presented with Four different options select the "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" and copy it to your clip board. Now Paste that code back here.

I tried your solution but it seem to not be working.

I've manage to delete

C:\Program Files\WinBlueSoft Software <== folder
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tempo-setup2.exe <== file

There is no UACxxxxx files in my system32.

Should I just reformat or try to get over it without reformating ?

Hello.
Don't put the logs in code tags, makes it hard to read for me.

  • Open HijackThis.
  • When Hijack This opens, click "Open the Misc Tools section"
  • Then select "Delete a file on reboot..."
  • Then find and select this file: C:\windows\system32\blocker.dll
  • Select okay and select yes to reboot.

Then after reboot,

  • Open HijackThis again.
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"

I've done it.

Is there anything to do ?

  • Download combofix from here
    Link 1
    Link 2

    1. If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:

    * Tools->Options->Main tab
    * Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".

    2. During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

    WinBlueSoft CF_download_FF

    WinBlueSoft CF_download_rename

    3. It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.
    4. Please do not rename Combofix to other names, but only to the one indicated.
    5. Close any open browsers.
    6. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

  • We need to disable your local AV (Anti-virus) before running Combofix.
  • See HERE for how to disable your AV. (Norton)
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe.
  • Follow the prompts. NOTE:
  • ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed.
    ***It's strongly recommended to have the Recovery Console installed before doing any malware removal.***

    **Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will automatically proceed with its scan.

  • The Recovery Console provides a recovery/repair mode should a problem occur during a Combofix run.

    WinBlueSoft Rcauto10

  • Allow ComboFix to download the Recovery Console.
  • Accept the End-User License Agreement.
  • The Recovery Console will be installed.
  • You will then get this next prompt that asks if you want to continue the malware scan, select yes

    WinBlueSoft Whatne10

  • Allow combofix to run
  • Post C:\combofix.txt back here.

    Note:
    Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Hmmm, well it still might have done the deletions bit, so it should of still done the job I wanted it to.

Lets try MBAM and then we'll do another scan for created files.

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.
