If you have a new HP laptop, and have a 12 month gaurantee, you may realise that no disks containing the operating system are with the laptop (dont know if this applies to PC aswell)

Its best to get these recovery disks that restore your laptop to factory settings, if needed before the gaurantee runs out.

Simply go to the HP website in your country and find the email address.

Email HP asking for a recovery disk, and they will ask for your name, address, Serial Number and Product number (both found on the non-microsoft sticker on the bottom of the laptop)

They wont ask for proof of purchase as the valid P/N will determine this.

Its very simple and saves you paying after the gaurantee.

Groovy.

There is no point in making recovery disks, as you will need about 10 disks, when you can get one from HP for nothing.

If you choose not to get the disks, you need to make a recovery disk using HP recovery manager A.S.A.P as the HP Recovery Partition can corrupt very easily, meaning you would need to wait a week for the order of disks as you cant create then when HP recovery partiton is corrupted/
