Ok, here's what happened:

I visited Mediafire to download some voice files from a webforum I frequent. I couldn't get the mp3's to download. Now, whenever I visit google, it won't let me open any search results. It redirects me to other sites. I figured this must be a virus, so I tried to run Malwarebytes anti-malware, but it won't open. No other anti-virus things open for me, either. Fortunately, Hijack this! will open, this is the log I got:

Upon further searching, I heard about a virus called the go.google virus. Could this be it? How do I remove it, now? I'm at my wit's end.

Next,

  • Open HijackThis
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"
  • Check the boxes in front of these lines:

    O1 - Hosts: 195.245.119.131 browser-security.microsoft.com

  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
