loud humming noise?

I've been having some problems with my laptop making loud humming noises
the noises go in and out, sometimes they last long, sometimes short
I'm not sure what's wrong with it, though
and I'm not sure where it's coming from

This usually happens when the airflow in within the laptop is bad. When using your laptop make sure it is placed on a hard and flat surface instead of a soft and uneven surface which might cause poor ventilation. Use a table top instead of your lap or bed.

If not it's the dust accumulating blocking the fan for ventilation holes.

Cybercleaner will do the job.

I've been using my laptop on my wooden desk before the noise started, so I don't think that can be it...and the temperature is at normal when I feel the bottom , not warm at all

Its to remove the dust. Have you tried checking your fans? only moving component will make noise. So its either your fan or hard disk.

what would I look for when checking my fan?
something loose, possibly?

Check that no dust is blocking your fans.
