I posted earlier for the first time but didn't explain my problem...sorry I'm new to this forum stuff.
I have had this Win32/Cryptor trojan on my computer for several months now and can't seem to get rid of it. I had McAfee and that didn't work. I canceled it and purchased AVG 8.5. I scan daily with AVG, it locates the trojan, I empty the vault but it reappears after about a half hour of using different programs - internet, Word, Excel - and, as of last week, I can't download any of my pictures from my camera. So, I was researching today and found a blog that was all folks that have this same trojan and one of them said that you walked them through getting rid of it and it's now gone from her computer. So, here I am...I need to be walked through the process as well. Here's my download as instructed:

Hello.

  • Open HijackThis
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"
  • Check the boxes in front of these lines:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
    O23 - Service: MSSQLServerADHelper - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\sqladhlp.exe (file missing)

  • Press "Fix Checked"
  • Close Hijack This.

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop
Link: HERE or HERE.

  • Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
  • Extract avenger.exe to your desktop

Note: This tool was posted specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

2. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

  • Leave the script box empty.
  • Leave the ticked box "Scan for rootkit" ticked.
  • Then tick "Disable any rootkits found"
  • Now click on the Execute to begin execution of the script.
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

The Avenger will automatically do the following:

  • It will Restart your computer.
  • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
3. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply.

Hi Belahzur, OK, here's the results from avenger. I had to open The Avenger and run execute this step twice, it didn't work the first time so I hope you are getting what you need.
Also, AVG continues to scan whenever I open either HijackThis or The Avenger and alert me that there are multiple threats and it's put them in there vault.
Let me know what my next step(s) are.
Thanks so much for all your help.

Here's the download:

Hello.
You'll still get alerts until we are done here, so far we have only disabled the rootkit so we can use our tools.
As we continue to remove more, there will be less alerts.

1. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Drivers to delete:
UACd.sys

Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\UACpakuaybk.sys

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

2. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

  • Under "Input script here:", paste in the script from the quote box above.
  • Leave the ticked box "Scan for rootkit" ticked.
  • Then tick "Disable any rootkits found"
  • Now click on the Execute to begin execution of the script.
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

The Avenger will automatically do the following:

Belahzar,
OK I scanned with MBAM and removed all scanned items as directed. There is 1 item in the Log tab but how do I copy and paste it to this post? It's not in Notepad any longer and there's no edit tab to go to in MBAM.
Thanks

Hello.
This looks much better now, I just want to do one more scan to make sure it's gone, then we can let you go.

  • Please download DDS by sUBs to your Desktop (Important!!) from one of these locations:
    Link 1
    Link 2
  • Double click DDS.scr to run
  • When complete, DDS.txt will open.
  • Save the report to your Desktop.
  • Copy and paste DDS.txt back here, I don't need to see attach.txt.

descriptionWin32/Cryptor EmptyRe: Win32/Cryptor

more_horiz
Belahzur, I've clicked on both Links to DDS and both are on my Desktop and when I open them, it opens a black box that tells me about the scan.
Maybe my AVG has a blocker on it that I need to deactivate. Or what am I doing wrong?

descriptionWin32/Cryptor EmptyRe: Win32/Cryptor

more_horiz
Probably. I know the older versions didn't mind DDS, but this is AVG 8.5, so they've probably gone crazy on the heur detections.

See HERE for how to disable AVG8.

Once disabled, try running DDS again.

descriptionWin32/Cryptor EmptyRe: Win32/Cryptor

I disabled AVG8 and tried twice to open dds and it's still opening just the black box with details of what it does.
What am I doing wrong?
