My neighbour has a prob with his computer. When he tried to start up 2day, his pc did not pass the screen which shows the make or model of his motherboard.

What can be the problem?

Need more information. Does it hang there or does it come up with an error message something like Disk boot error? Or NTLDR Missing?

no error comes up, it just hangs there

Are there any beep sounds? Uplug the power cord from the computer for about 10-15 minutes and try powering it on again. If it doesn't work, open the casing and remove the battery for about 15 minutes and try again.

i unlugged the power cable but that didndt work... they said they still have warranty so tey will take it to the shop...

if i go into the case the warranty will void...

cannot be hardisk cause cant even boot up the bios. Go to any pc shop and ask for cmos battery check. Can be faulty powersupply too.
powersupply => try using a working motherboard and use the psu to power it up.
