What exactly is AviSynth and do I need it on my computer or is it ok for me to go ahead and uninstall it?

Also what is better ATF-Cleaner or CCleaner?

Info for the avisynth:

ATF-Cleaner IMO is better since it does not touch the registry like CCleaner has the power to do (Registry cleaners are dangerous, deleting one wrong key and there goes your OS, enjoy your new paper weight), and doesn't need to be installed.

I do not doubt your wisdom on this but what is the point of registry cleaners if they are so dangerous, is a cluttered registry a problem or not?

thanks for any advice

Registry cleaners can be dangerous if used incorrectly. However, some users still prefer to use them as the registry can become cluttered with information that is no longer needed. Most of the time, registry cleaners are harmless and do there job correctly. However, there are a few times that registry cleaners have been known to mess up the users registry, co caution must be used.

To directly answer your question, yes a cluttered registry is a problem. Running a registry cleaner is a good way to correct some errors, speed up your computer, and slightly speed up boot and shutdown times. But because of the slight risk presented with a registry cleaner, sometimes the price far outways the benefits. I have never personally had a machine damaged by one, but I have heard of users who have.

I will change this topic to solved. If your question has not been answered, please let me know and I will remove the solved label. If you wish to ask a new question, please do so in a new thread.
