svchost

i'm quite curious as to how many svchost should be running in a normal pc. does anybody know the exact number of svchost that suppose to run ?

The number of svchost you have running dependeds on the applications (programs) you have on your PC that need it. svchost.exe controls the loading of DLLs that program needs.

I have 12 of them running on my PC.

oh ok...i thought that that was the reason my pc is slowing down. i got 8 svchost running on my pc. i wonder what's the reason of the slow down now. :hmm:

If you would like to know which services (programs) are being hosted by a particular svchost executable open a command prompt and run this command:

tasklist /svc

Go through this PC housekeeping procedure to attempt to get your system back up to speed.
