Hello.

I see you have Viewpoint Manager, this is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". Read this article: http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3561546

Additional info: http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_137262.htm

I suggest you remove the program now.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.

  • Viewpoint
  • Viewpoint Manager
  • Viewpoint Media Player
  • Viewpoint Toolbar

  • Open HijackThis
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"
  • Check the boxes in front of these lines:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F3FAF2F7-D2C0-4EA4-8DAD-B4B974371C1E} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieuihandler.dll (file missing)
    O23 - Service: Viewpoint Manager Service - Viewpoint Corporation - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe

  • Press "Fix Checked"
  • Close Hijack This.

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

I did as instructed and all seemed well and clean until I ran my AVG program. There were the same infections. They are in a File in my "C" directory called "Recyclers". This file shows up when I browse and scan with my AVG. If I go to "My computer" and then to "C" drive there is no "Recyclers" file to be seen. I am really confused.

Hello.
The folder 'resycled' is an infection, but the folder 'recycler' is the recycle bin.

  • Please download DDS by sUBs to your Desktop (Important!!) from one of these locations:
    Link 1
    Link 2
    Link 3
  • Double click DDS.scr to run
  • When complete, DDS.txt will open.
  • Save the report to your Desktop.
  • Copy and paste DDS.txt back here, I don't need to see attach.txt.

Log looks okay, how are things for you?

descriptionSolvedRe: how do I remove win32/heur virus?

I just ran AVG and the infection is still there at C:"Recyclers. If I tell it to remove it I get the following message. "Moved object is bigger than the archive size limit."

descriptionSolvedRe: how do I remove win32/heur virus?

more_horiz
Okay, lets see what this finds. You say it's spelt recyclers? Does it have an s on the end?

Please download DirLook by jpshortstuff from one of the following mirrors:
Link 1
Link 2
Link 3
  • Double-click DirLook.exe to run it (Vista Users should right-click and select Run As Administrator...).
  • Ensure that Show Hidden Files/Folders and BBCode Ouput are both checked.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:

    Code:

    C:\RECYCLER /s

  • Click the DirLook button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply. (Note: The log can also be found at C:\DirLook.txt)
Note: Scanning may take longer for large folders.

there is no "S" at the end. It is Recycler. "C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-343818398-1958367476-839522115-1003\Dc1389.exe:\ns_00024";"Virus found Win32/Heur";"Infected" (Complete from AVG log.)
