I think you may have a flash drive infection, hiding in the F drive, what is currently plugged into the F drive at the moment? a USB stick/external hardrive or something?

I see that you are running Bittorrent.
P2P(Peer to peer) applications are designed to help you easily share and distribute files between you and a group of people. But they can also be used to distribute malware, and thus are not considered safe.
The removal of these programs is optional, but highly recommended.
Should you choose to remove them, but you are having trouble doing so, please let me know in your next post here and I will aid you.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.

hey. i've just deleted bittorrent and ran hijackthis again. upon clicking scan it gives me an error..

"For some reason your system denied write access to the Hosts file. If any hijacked domains are in this file, HijackThis ay NOT be able to fix this."

Not sure if it's important but I included it. Here is the finished log. Any other issues I should worry about? And is there a way to rid things from my flash drives? I have 3 total external HDs. Western Digital My Books to be exact (all of which are not plugged in during this scan). Thanks!

Hello.
We need to plug them all in, because they maybe infected.

Please download Flash_Disinfector from HERE

• First, download it to your desktop.
  
• Now double click it to run it and will tell it you what to do when you open it.
  
• It will temporarily kill explorer.exe and your desktop will go blank.
  
• Let Flash_Disinfector do it's job and it will restart explorer.exe for you.
  
• It will make a dummy autorun.inf in the root of every drive.
  
• You can now delete Flash_Disinfector.exe.
  

• Please download DDS by sUBs to your Desktop (Important!!) from one of these locations:

  Link 2
  Link 3
  
• Double click DDS.scr to run
  
• When complete, DDS.txt will open.
  
• Click No for Optional Scan.
  
• Save the report to your Desktop.
  
• Copy and paste DDS.txt back here, I don't need to see attach.txt.
  

hey.
i ran the Flash_Inpsector without any problems. However, when I try to run the dds it gives me an error in the dos menu

"This tool does not your support your Operating System
Press any key to continue..."

I'm running Vista 64-Bit. Any ideas?

Darn it.
I know DDS runs fine on normal Vista, so figured it would be fine on 64 bit.
Lets try this tool.

• Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  
• Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  
• Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  
• Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<< will be maximized) and info.txt (<< will be minimized)
