descriptionSolvedMy friend's computer is probably infected.

more_horiz
I was wondering if you guys could help me out with my friend's computer. His little brother has repeatedly downloaded viruses via Limewire and other P2P servers. There is obviously something wrong with this computer, though I'm not sure what exactly. It isn't mine, so I'm not very familiar with it. Fortunately, I believe you can help me figure out what the problem is and correct it.

Here is the HiJackThis Log:

Hello again.
If you want my help, I will ask that all P2P programs be uninstalled, otherwise we will be going round in a circle and the machine will be infected again as soon as it's clean.

  • Open HijackThis
  • Click "Open the Misc Tools section"
  • Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
  • Click "Save List..." (generates uninstall_list.txt)
  • Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

Haha. Alright, I'll try to convince him that his P2P programs are dirty. Thanks!

Once ALL P2P programs are removed, then I will help.
If not, there are many other forums around the internet, although I can't say their answers will be as quick. Annoyed or Unimpress
