What is that??
I get a window that pops up whenever I turn on my computer that says this:

ehRec.exe-Application Error
The exeception unknown software exeception (0xe0434f4d) occured in the application at loacation 0x7c812a5b.

then I have the option to either click "ok" or "cancel"

does anyone know what this is and what I should do to fix it?

I think this error has something to do with Windows Media Player or Media Center.

Click Start >> Run >> type in cmd. Type in one by one:

Execute the command regsvr32.exe atl.dll
Execute the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched /unregServer
Execute the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched /service
Execute the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr /unregServer
Execute the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr /service
Execute the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe /unregServer
Execute the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe /regserver
Execute the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe /unregServer
Execute the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe /regserver


Restart Media Center.

If it doesn't work, try this:

Go to Add/Remove Programs >> Check the box labeled Show updates at the top. Scroll to the bottom of the list of installed programs, Remove the most recently installed Media Center update rollup package.
