My laptop has been infected with this worm, I too get the Hoax Security alert. I cannot get out on the internet without being directed to the Defender site and then IE locks up. I am posting to this forum via my Desktop. I have run My virus program(PC-cillin) and it does not detect the virus. How do I remove this from my laptop. OS is Windows XP pro.

I have downloaded and saved to a flash drive, copied the exe. file to my infected laptop. I have not executed the file as of yet. My laptop can not access the internet. IE locks up. What's next?

If you can get me the log using the flash drive to transfer it, that would be a start.

• When complete, DDS.txt will open.
  
• Click No for Optional Scan.
  
• Save the report to your Desktop.
  
• Copy and paste DDS.txt back here, I don't need to see attach.txt.
  

I down loaded the DDS.scr and copied it to flash drive and then copied to desktop of the infected laptop. When I dbl click the icon on the infected laptop it opens notepad. Nothing runs

If scr doesn't run, get it from one of the other links.
DDS has a: .pif/.scr/.com versions.
So if one doesn't run, try another.

• Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
  
• Close OTMoveIt3
  

If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.
