PCs are overrated and Macs are overpriced so the pwnage pretty much goes around equally!

well we only have 2 choices in the market which are good but with pc we have a lot of gaming options which mac doesnt support plus there are lots of cloud computing options supported by pc. Pc can be afforded by anyone especially when the world economy is currently under recession and people are finding hard to get any further jobs.
Recently , there were 8000 employees laid off by SONY. Some others included bank of america, yahoo,nbc and other MnCs.US companies have laid off 533,000 people in 11/08, never seen since 1974.

Presently under current circumstances of recession it wont be wrong to say that pc has an edge over mac . Everyone is now looking towards value for money and not money for value.

I wouldn't say everyone! Any Liberal Arts (music, graphic design, etc...) focused person would be crazy to get a PC! I have one of each and I agree that gaming is pretty much owned by PCs, but I would never use anything but a Mac for music recording or graphic design! Plus there is the whole virus issue. I just got finished, with GeekPolice's help, ridding my PC of a backdoor trojan, which sucked pretty hardcore! In the long run, you are saving money with a Mac because you never have to buy spyware, virus, or malware protection!

As for the economy, Apple is actually one of the few companies that is actively opening NEW stores, rather than closing the current ones! I don't see Microsoft helping out stores like Circuit City and the like that are closing hundreds of stores throughout the country!

Ultimately, neither platform is "better" but instead it is the individual user that needs to decide what to use!

Microsoft owns windows and not circuitcity. Therefore if tomorrow SONY,HP,Bestbuy,Circuitcity go bankrupt , we cannot expect Microsoft to finance them and pay for their heavy losses/bankruptcy and/or vice versa.Microsoft gives pretty decent margin of profit to all these sales companies/stores to sell microsoft products. If tomorrow Apple gets bankrupt we cannot expect circuitcity, dell, hp, lenovo,microsoft to help Apple come out of tremendous debt. Its business, the companies reap what they sow, and there are many factors involved in downfall of an enterprise.

Opening new stores by apple would be gr888888 if sales last longer for their high prices.
Apple is still young to be vulnerable to backdoors as windows but it will get more vulnerable eventually with the passage of time.I am not anti-apple but we here are to help you with ur malware issues. I would say that the antiviruses dont cost much now a days. u can go for either nod32 or kaspersky, both are good.Use free versions of superantispyware and malwarebytes and install add ons ''no script'' and ''wot'' in ur firefox and ''mccafe site advisor''[with nod32 only as kaspersky wont allow its installation in the c drive ].

If somehow u still find ur pc giving any error/issues then the option for u is to start using cloud computing programs like Azure,Ajax,Eye OS,You Os, icloud extra.



Hope that ur Pc will work fine, make sure u update all ur definitions for viruses,spyware and the rest.
