Hi,
Sorry Doctor Inferno, typed wrongly.
What I am checking is that why can't I have more than one cable modem since there are multiples internet connection point in a residence?

Modems are used in a network to access your ISP's server for internet connection capabilities.

You can have multiple modems if you want to have multiple ISP plans and pay for them!

What you should be looking at is using one connection outlet on the wall to one cable modem (single ISP plan) which is then etherneted to a wireless router which can route a signal to as many PC's on the network as you need!
