my computer is not letting me download the otmoveit program. it gets to 99% and then an error pops up and says access denied. make sure the disck is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

descriptionSolvedRe: Remove System Security

more_horiz
Oh, I forgot.
You are running AVG, AVG doesn't like OTMoveIt.

Please download the Pocket Killbox from HERE

1. Open the Killbox.
2. Under "Full path of file to delete", copy and paste in the following one by one:

c:\documents and settings\christopher\g2mdlhlpx.exe
c:\documents and settings\all users\312785410

3. Press the Red X to delete the file.
4. It will ask if you want to make a backup of the file we deleted, select Yes to the prompt.
5. It will now delete the file, and popup with another prompt saying so, press Ok.
6. Close the Killbox.

descriptionSolvedRe: Remove System Security

killbox said that the second file did not exist. i did kill the first file though.

what now? am i cured?

descriptionSolvedRe: Remove System Security

more_horiz
No, the folder still exists and Killbox think it's looking for a file.
Open the "Options" menu in Killbox and tick the "Remove directories"

Paste in the second line again and it will be killed this time.

descriptionSolvedRe: Remove System Security

more_horiz
it still says that the file doesn't exist.

descriptionSolvedRe: Remove System Security

Okay, lets do this manually.

    To Unhide Files and folders:
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View Tab.

Under the Hidden files and folders heading deselect "Do not show hidden files and folders".
  • Check the "Show hidden files and folders" option.
  • Hit the "Apply To All Folders" option.
  • Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.

You can now delete this folder in bold:
c:\documents and settings\all users\312785410

What problems remain?

descriptionSolvedRe: Remove System Security

more_horiz
i followed that path and there is no file or folder in the all users folder with the name 312785410.

is there a scan i can do to confirm it is not there?

descriptionSolvedRe: Remove System Security

more_horiz
Yes, there is.

Please download DirLook by jpshortstuff from one of the following mirrors:
Link 1
Link 2
Link 3
  • Double-click DirLook.exe to run it (Vista Users should right-click and select Run As Administrator...).
  • Ensure that Show Hidden Files/Folders and BBCode Ouput are both checked.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:

    Code:

    c:\documents and settings\all users\

  • Click the DirLook button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply. (Note: The log can also be found at C:\DirLook.txt)
Note: Scanning may take longer for large folders.
