IWinGames, Orb media server, VeohTV, etc. - can they cause spyware/malware problems?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes...

I occasionally play Family Feud (which I love). When I d/l it, it d/l IWinGames.

Also, I have Orb Media server to be able to view movie files and such that's on my PC on the PS3.

VeohTV...I don't remember what I had downloaded it for. To watch some movies or something.

Anyway, can these programs (and there's probably others like this) cause problems like spyware, malware, viruses, trojans, etc.?

I mean when I weigh the pros and cons of keeping them which I only occasionally use or risk getting a virus, I'm thinking to remove them.

Any input on any of these or any others?

There are few programs that cause malware except for smitfraud (fake security softwares).

Always have an antivirus running when downloading and stay out of torrents, porn sites and p2p altogether. Refrain from viewing the full content of the e-mails. Also scan the files before opening them to play safe.

If you are unsure about something you are downloading post your questions in this forum together with the name of the program you intending to download and we will do some research for you. Or better still, do a quick Google search. If the software contains malware, you will find many tutorials on how to remove it.

Thank you. I was just wondering because in reading some of the posts about various malware removal and such, I had noticed that that particular person had iWinGames installed in their hijack this log and in one of the things to check to fix mentioned, they were told to check that. So, that made me wonder if I should remove my iWin Games. I rarely play it and only play Family Feud every now and then.
